Shanele Lu, NCIDQ, LEED AP, WELL AP

Interior Designer

Shanele Lu moved to the US from Taiwan to study at the Art Institute of Seattle, where she majored in interior design. Her East Coast life began with her continuation of studies at the Maryland Institute College of Art, majoring in interior architecture.  Her passion for design stems from her desire to improve people’s lives and their living environment. Her experience with base building and tenant fit-out projects attests to her knowledge as well as passion for her work throughout all phases, from design development to construction document production and construction administration.

At home, she manages a cross-cultural, pet-friendly household; she is married to an Albanian man, raising two teenagers, taking care of a grumpy/exotic shorthair cat, several reptiles, and birds. She loves (and amazingly finds time) to travel and teach Mandarin at a Chinese school on Sundays. Every year she and her son participate together in a regional chrysanthemum competition, volunteering her time at the Old Dominion Chrysanthemum Society.
