Architectural Internship Positions Now Available
While contributing to our office’s professional needs, our goal is for interns to learn more about our firm. Interns will experience the development of projects in our studio, the wisdom of history through preservation, and the art of assembling a building while working along side our staff of professional architects.
Candidates must have experience with Revit, as well as strong conceptual and design skills. A minimum of 20 hours a week is required, including two 8-hour days in the office. This is an exciting time filled with opportunity for those joining the firm. MTFA is a small firm with BIG ideas.

Project Architect
To join us as a PROJECT ARCHITECT in our studio, you should have:
Registered architect with an architecture degree
5 to 15 years of experience
Proficiency and project experience in Revit and AutoCAD
Experience with Federal Government projects
Eligible for Government security clearance
Experience with preliminary planning, programming, feasibility studies, concepts, schematic design, design development, construction documents including specifications and construction administration
Strong communication and organizational skills
Collaborative personality to bring out the best in team situations

Preservation Architect
To join us as a PRESERVATION ARCHITECT in our studio, you should have:
Knowledge of the Secretary of Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation
8+ years of historic preservation experience
Current architectural registration
Interest in the technical aspects of historic properties and buildings, including historic materials
Ability to collaborate with consultants and owner's representatives on complex multi-phased projects
Strong communication and organizational skills
Collaborative personality to bring out the best in team situations and mentor emerging professionals
Strong knowledge of design, construction documents, and project delivery
Experience with government projects is a plus
Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD programs and Microsoft Office

Architectural Conservator
To join us as an ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATOR in our studio, you should have:
Masters of Science in Historic Preservation with a conservation concentration or a Masters of Architecture with a certificate in conservation
Experience with field investigation, materials testing, materials treatment, report writing, construction documents, and construction administration
5+ years of historic preservation experience
Demonstrable skills in historic research and AutoCAD
Full-time professional experience, particularly construction administration, and specification writing skills, will be considered an advantage over other candidates
Preference will be given to those individuals with strong communication skills
