Alexandra Foster, Associate AIA
PROJECT DESIGNER
As a young designer, Alexandra (Alex) has experience on both a wide range of commercial, institutional, and religious projects in the local area and pro-bono work in international development. She believes that the built environment has the unique power to shape interactions and bring people together. Whether it is master planning, conceptual design, or construction administration — Alex pursues design excellence and value creation for her clients, the community, and the marketplace.
Alex was named to the 2021 class of AIA Virginia’s Emerging Leaders in Architecture and participated in the development of a comprehensive handbook to spark community-based equitable, accessible, and culturally reflective design. Additionally, Alex’s interest and research on the architectural impact of interfaith dialogue have been published internationally, most recently at the Seeds of Peace Interfaith Summit in Mumbai. In 2022, she was appointed to serve on the Arlington County Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board (HALRB).
Outside of the office, Alex plays the uilleann pipes, enjoys biking in DC, and finding the best trivia in Arlington.
