Lutheran Church of the Redeemer

The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer commissioned MTFA to provide full master planning and design services in order to meet the needs of their growing congregation. The site master plan more than doubles the size of the existing facilities. The design creates welcoming entrances that connect to a main circulation spine that is reminiscent of a town main street. This organization allows for simple movement to key spaces including worship, fellowship, education, administration, and music. Classrooms have sufficient space, equipment, and storage to support a developmentally-oriented child care program during the week, while allowing the space to be used by other members of the congregation during the weekends.

The phased master plan resulted in a long term relationship with the church. The completed first phase created new child care classrooms oriented around a central multipurpose space. The completed second phase created a vibrant new entry, narthex, and chapel to the existing church. This addition enhanced accessibility to the refurbished organ and choir area in the new loft. Future phases will provide additional education, worship, and administration spaces.
