Dean revels in the relationship between the built environment and the simple, yet relatively complex, everyday human experience and has a driving desire to implement an architecture that impacts people. He believes that architectural design and its implementation must provide a vision for any given project and simultaneously satisfy a client’s needs and desires while pushing the limits of construction technologies and the requirements of governing agencies. His experience ranges from large, technological government facilities to museums and churches. His exposure to many different cultures and languages in travels as a United States Foreign Service spouse in the Middle East to Southeast Asia has fostered an exceptional, empathetic talent as a communicator and mentor. His personal passions include raising his children, making music, cooking, and cultivating bonsai.
