Alison Cavicchio

ARCHITECTURAL CONSERVATOR

Ali is an Architectural Conservator with her Masters in Historic Preservation from the University of Pennsylvania’s Weitzman School of Design. At Penn, she specialized in conservation with a particular interest in earthen architectural heritage. Her experience includes conducting condition assessments, documentation and monitoring, materials testing and analysis, and research regarding preventive conservation methods, including surface treatments on masonry for the National Park Service. She is a member of AIC, APT, and US ICOMOS. Ali previously worked in the international development and human rights sector, notably for the US. Agency for International Development’s Office of Afghanistan and Pakistan Affairs in Washington, DC and the Missions in Kabul and Islamabad. Ali is a native Rhode Islander, loves traveling, the beach, riding her bike, and Old Town Alexandria.
